SIA Training

Clinton Training delivers all the approved SIA courses the qualifications required to apply for an SIA licence we appear on the SIA website as an approved training provider.

We deliver Door Supervision course, Close Protection course, CCTV course, Private Investigator Course, Security Guarding course, BS7858, Physical Intervention, sia licence renewal, Physical Intervention Level 3 Train the Trainer,

The SIA (Security Industry Authority) are the regulating body of the security industry, regulating security companies and individuals working in the security industry.

The SIA enforces the Private Security Industry Act 2001 with its’ partners, ensuring compliance of the act for individuals working in a licensable activity, and security companies employing security personnel.

To work in the security industry you will have to undergo SIA Security training and apply for an SIA licence once your application is completed successfully and you have received your SIA badge you will be then hold an SIA licence and ready for work.

All our SIA training courses are delivered by experienced trainers who have extensive knowledge in the security industry and provide an enjoyable and informative experience.


Door Supervision Course Level 2


When you apply for a front line Door Supervisor licence you must show that you have had the training required of a licensed Door Supervisor operative.

You will need to complete a Door Supervision course and pass the multiple choice tests and Physical Intervention training before you can apply for a front line SIA Door Supervision licence with the SIA.

The SIA Door Supervisor course is divided into 4 units:


Upskilling Course Level 2


This qualification is aimed at Door Supervisors that achieved their qualification prior to June 2010.

You will have to complete the Up Skilling course for an sia licence renewal of your SIA Door Supervision licence.

The qualification has been developed to meet the mandatory SIA top up training requirement for Door Supervisors.

You will have to complete this course before your Door Supervisors licence expires, or you may have to complete a full SIA Door Supervision Course Level 2.

The qualifications consist of two units:


CCTV Course (Public Space Surveillance) Level 2


The Level 2 Award CCTV course for Working as a CCTV Operator (Public Space Surveillance) within the Private Security Industry (QCF) is a qualification for individuals who work or would like to work as a CCTV Operator.

It is based on the SIA Specification for Learning and Qualifications for CCTV Control Room Operators (PSS) 2014 and successful completion of the qualification enables learners to apply for an SIA licence for CCTV Operators. 

Security operatives are likely in the course of their work to be required to make calls to the emergency services, or need to communicate to resolve conflict.  It is essential that security operatives are able to communicate clearly.

The CCTV course will cover all the required learning outcomes to apply for a SIA licence.


Security Guarding Level 2


The Award for Working as a Security Officer within the Private Security Industry is a qualification for individuals who work or would like to work as a Security Guard.

It is based on the SIA Specification for Learning and Qualifications in Security Guarding and successful completion of the qualification enables learners to apply for an SIA licence in Security Guarding. 

Assessment for all 3 units is by externally set and market multiple choice exam.


Close Protection Level 3


The Level 3 Award for Working as a Close Protection Operative within the Private Security Industry is a qualification for individuals who work or would like to work as Close Protection Officers.

It is based on the SIA Specification for Learning and Qualifications for Close Protection Operatives and in Conflict Management 2014.

Successful completion of the qualification enables learners to apply for an SIA licence in Close Protection. 

Assessment for unit 1 and 2 is by a) an externally set and marked multiple choice question paper b) an externally set and internally marked question paper and c) Practical tasks/assignment


Private Investigator Training   Level 3


The Level 3 Certificate in Principles of Professional Private Investigation /private investigator training is designed to provide learners with the knowledge and understanding required to become a professional private investigator investigator.

It develops their understanding of the wider sector including the role of the Private Investigator, process serving, investigation assignments and methodologies, criminal investigations & the law and an introduction to starting a private investigation business.
